National Manufacturing Day is observed annually on the first Friday in October.

What is Manufacturing Day?

Manufacturing Day℠ is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. It addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t.  It is also a great way to introduce your business to prospective future employees who are currently students.
This year, MFG Day will host many in-person events as well as a strong emphasis on engaging digital and virtual events throughout the country. With manufacturing careers at the heart of some of the most impactful work being done in response to the pandemic, we are excited to shine a spotlight on manufacturing careers. Today’s science, technology, engineering, and math graduates will power the next chapter of American production and innovation, and harnessing their potential is an economic imperative.

By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly recognized the importance of the manufacturing industry in 2021 by signing a proclamation declaring Friday, October 1st as "MFG Day" in our great state of Kansas.

Allegion PLC: Allegion Olathe 2021 MFG Day Virtual Field Trip

Olathe-area students are invited to virtually attend Allegion's 2021 MFG Day celebration on Wednesday, October 20, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CT. This "virtual field trip" will include live conversations with our plant leadership team as well as a look at our manufacturing facilities across the U.S., with information on jobs and technological advancements in manufacturing. An employee panel discussion will showcase different career paths, while an Allegion leader shares their journey from the manufacturing floor, too. We want to give students an inside look at how they can develop the skills needed to qualify for long-term careers in the essential and exciting manufacturing industry. Whether students are physically in the classroom this year or if they are e-learning, this will be an engaging, fun and educational virtual field trip.
